SEAHAWKS SEE THEIR WAY TO TWO IN A ROW

BOYDS, Md. – The Cup finals in the Men's Division was an all-Carolina affair as UNC Wilmington out of the north faced off with Coastal Carolina out of the southern state. While the two teams were scoreless through the intermission, Wilmington came through with a try with about two and a half minutes remaining to pick up the 7-0 win and the National Championship. 

UNC Wilmington advanced to the championship match following a 15-0 shutout of Northwestern in the semifinal. Across the bracket, Coastal Carolina cruised to a 38-7 victory over Colorado Mesa. 

Northwestern bounced back from their semifinal defeat to take third place with a 21-17 victory over Colorado Mesa while Miami claimed the Plate with a 26-12 win against Grand Valley State. The Bowl was awarded to Towson who retained home-state advantage in a 19-7 victory over the Grizzlies of Montana and the Shield is headed to Memphis who picked up a 29-10 win against Vermont.

The leading scorers in Division II were Luca Race of Vermont and Reinhardt Stipp of Grand Valley State. Both recorded six tries to go with a trio of conversions for 36 points.

The MVP award went to Carey Cortes, who was a glue guy for the champion Seahawks. Wilmington. Maxton Buckingham led the back-to-back champs in tries with six on the weekend.
