Army, AIC, Penn State Look to Upset Brown’s Three-Peat

In the Women’s Premier Cup, three of the top four seeds have advanced to the semifinals. In the East Region final, top seeded American International College will take on the second seed Army Black Knights at 12:06 p.m. E.T. Out West, two-time defending champion Brown will take on the No. 3 seed Penn State.

One-seed AIC opened with a 53-0 drubbing of Norwich that saw Naomi Dodd record a hat-trick. The Yellow Jackets then booked their place in the semis with a 31-14 triumph over Wheeling.

In the bottom half of the East, Army shut-out Mt. St. Mary’s, 29-0, before pummeling New Haven 41-7 in the quarterfinals. New Haven advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating St. Bonaventure 29-10.

In the West Region, Brown opened its weekend with a 38-0 shutout of Adrian before thumping Navy 24-7. In the semifinals they will face the third-seeded Nittany Lions, who shutout Frostburg 21-0 before upsetting Queens 17-12 in the quarterfinals.

The leading scorer on day one is Dodd, with 20 points from four tries. She opened her day with a hat-trick against Norwich before adding a try in the victory over Wheeling.
